September 20, 2016 T-Birds fight back for five-set road win GARDEN CITY, Kansas- Staring at an 18-8 deficit in the fourth set, already down 2-1, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team was on the ropes against a Garden City Community College team that entered Monday night's contest on a nine-match losing streak. Rather than fold, the T-Birds came roaring back to win the fourth set 25-23 and rode that wave of momentum en route to a stunning five-set victory: 24-26, 25-23, 9-25, 25-23 and 15-8.
September 18, 2016 T-Birds stun Mavericks in second-overtime thriller CONCORDIA, Kansas- It wasn't always pretty. In fact, little went according to plan Sunday afternoon for the Cloud County Community College soccer team when it hosted non-conference foe, Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. But the T-Birds made big plays when they needed to. None larger than freshman James Nbudueze's game-winning goal with 1:35 remaining in second overtime that clincedh the 2-1 come-from-behind victory for Cloud County.
