COFFEYVILLE, Kansas —  The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team had its upset bid of No. 14 ranked Coffeyville Community College come up a little short on Saturday, falling 82-71 on the road against the Red Ravens.

Cloud County (3-5 overall, 1-4 KJCCC) overcame a 19-point deficit early in the second half, courtesy of a 19-3 run, to get back within one possession at 66-63 with a little over 4:30 remaining on a 3-pointer by sophomore point guard, Solomon Finley.

Unfortunately for the T-Birds, Coffeyville (8-1 overall, 4-1 KJCCC) responded with a 7-0 burst over the next 1:38 to defuse Cloud County's threat and push the lead back up to 10.

Cloud County had four players finish in double-figures Saturday, led by 14 points from redshirt sophomore Ramion Burt Jr. The forward also led the T-Birds in rebounds with nine.

Freshman forward Breyon Jackson and redshirt freshman Alvin Thompson each added 13 points apiece, while freshman Brayden Day chipped in 10 points.

As a team, Cloud County outrebounded Coffeyville, 39-35. The T-Birds doubled-up the Red Ravens in offensive rebounds (16-8), turning those into an 18-2 advantage in second chance points.

Cloud will be back on its home floor at 8 p.m. this Wednesday when it hosts Neosho County Community College.
