GOODLAND, Kansas — Following its first shutout of the season last Saturday, the Cloud County Community College men's soccer team kept right on rolling Tuesday as it earned a dominating 4-1 road victory over Northwest Kansas Technical College.

"The men's team was absolutely fantastic (Tuesday)," said Cloud County head coach, James Ross. "We scored our first three goals on the first three shots we took, all within the first seven minutes of the game. The game was essentially over after that."

The trio of sophomores that led Cloud County (4-1 overall, 3-0 KJCCC West) to a 3-0 victory on Saturday over Dodge City — Rafael Santos, Luiz Garcia and Alan Brandao — all netted goals again on Tuesday against the Mavericks (2-2-1 overall, 0-1 KJCCC West)

Santos scored off a free kick to get things started. Brandao had his goal assisted by Garcia for Cloud's second goal, while Garcia's score was assisted by Santos to propel the T-Birds out to their early 3-0 lead.

Cloud County would add a fourth goal from sophomore transfer Hakeem Smith, his first as a T-Bird, assisted by Baptiste Bissessur.

The T-Birds will be back in action this Saturday when they host Barton Community College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. following the women's game at 2 p.m.
